Update on My Sick Summer
Wow! What a terrible last 6 weeks it’s been.
It all started with the flu. I was sure the lingering symptoms would go away but they never did (it felt like a combination of flu-like symptoms and panic attacks).
Doctors were mostly useless in the beginning until I started consulting with specialists. I eventually got paired with some very kind, patient, and knowledgeable practitioners. My very last appointment was with a rheumatologist and he’s nearly certain I was dealing with the results of stress and fallout from the flu. He believes the stress made it very difficult to actually recover from the flu.
I was feeling so bad that I even considered cancelling my trip to Europe! However, I’m finally on the mend and my doctor assured me that I’m in better condition than I realize and encouraged me to not cancel my trip!
Since I wasn’t feeling my best, I’ve had to delay seeing some of you. If you’re sticking around for me, I really appreciate it…
If I’ve had to cancel our session and you’re still looking forward to seeing me, thank you!
If I’ve had to delay our session for a few weeks and you’re still waiting on me, thank you!
If you’re a new potential client, and you’re waiting on me to return to work, I thank you!
I live a very alternative lifestyle so I have to heavily compartmentalize my life. And while everyone (no matter which compartment) knows I’ve been sick, I still sometimes feel isolated in a way since my different communities have to be so divided. So, thank you for checking in on me, thank you for the well wishes, and thank you for the gifts!
I’m doing well now and I expect to hit the ground running again on 9/23. I leave 9/7 and actually return from London on 9/17 but I’m going to take a few days off to rest when I get back home. Some of you have already started scheduling for my return. If you’re a new client, you’re also welcome to reach out with any questions about scheduling in the meantime (I’ll be email-only while I’m away because my work phone will be home). I’ve been very responsive over email despite hiding under the comforter for the last 6 weeks.
Caio!
