More Updates

A lot has changed with my business since the spring. I got sick in July but, even in April, I started winding down on my work hours. I hadn’t fully realized it at the time but, I was overworked. This job requires a lot of physical labor and socializing. I am not a very social creature by nature and - while I do very well on a one-on-one basis - seeing a lot of clients during the week can drain my battery. Work, alongside insomnia, was setting me up for illness.

I’ve seen a few specialists and it’s clear that my immune system has become weak. I’ve had to recalibrate my business so that I can still see clients while taking time to get well: I only see a few clients a week, I’ve raised my rates to help account for missing clients, and I’ve changed my preferred working hours.

Funny enough, I took this photo just the day before I got the flu in July!

Along the way, I lost a few clients because of my changing schedule. And there were some clients to whom I know I was a godsend (if I do say so myself!): I am reliable, sweet, and my service feels authentic and non-transactional. So, how unfortunate that I should have to wind back the amazing service I provide after only a year and a half in business!

The good news is that I’m getting better! I’m prioritizing sleep, which is one of the most powerful healing devices we have in our human toolbox. I sincerely hope to start making myself more available to clients. I am eagerly looking forward to making new friends. I have some wonderful clients that I adore because they make this job fun and easy. I have high hopes for the future.

Wish me a healthy and plentiful New Year and I hope to see you all again very soon!
